GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF MTA SIGNED MEMORANDA OF UNDERSTANDING REGARDING COOPERATION IN THE FIELDS OF EARTH SCIENCES AND MINING WITH RELATED INSTITUTIONS OF ALGERIA ON JULY 20, 2022.

President of National Agency of Mineral Activities of Algeria Mr. Ismail EL DJOUZI and President of Algerian Geological Survey Agency Mrs. Karima TAFER as well as Deputy Director of Geological Infrastructure at the General Directorate of Mines in Ministry of Energy and Mines of People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Mrs. Atika OUADAH and representative of Algerian Embassy in Ankara paid a visit to General Directorate of MTA between 20 and 22 July 2022. General Manager of MTAIC Mr. Murat Halit DURCEYLAN, representatives of MTAIC and representative of Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources also attended the meeting.

General Director of MTA Mr. Vedat YANIK welcomed the Algerian Delegation at his office. General Director of MTA expressed his conviction to the mutual contribution of the studies to be jointly carried out in the fields of earth sciences and mining and stated that General Directorate of MTA is ready to conduct mutual projects with Algerian Institutions.

At the technical meeting held afterwards, General Directorate of MTA made a brief speech to inform about MTA, express his pleasure for finalizing the negotiation procedure and signing the memoranda of understanding and wish that the signed documents will be a means to conduct mutual agreements. And the representatives of Algerian side stated that they are ready for cooperation and they are eager to benefit from the 87-year knowledge of MTA.

Two Memoranda of Understanding regarding cooperation on earth sciences and mining are signed during the technical meeting.

Deputy Director of Geological Infrastructure at the General Directorate of Mines in Ministry of Energy and Mines of Algeria Mrs. Atika OUADAH made a presentation to inform about the Algerian equivalent institutions and mineral potential of Algeria. Following her presentation, MTA Introduction Movie was watched.

On the following days of the program, the delegation visited Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems Center, Data Processing Laboratory of Aerial Geophysics, analysis-test laboratories of Mineral Analysis and Technologies Department, Turkish Geosciences Data and Core Data Bank (TÜVEK) and Martyr Cuma Dağ Natural History Museum at MTA. Additionally, the delegation visited MTA International Mining Incorporated Company (MTAIC)  to get information on  the international activities of the company.
